  • The College has been granted Autonomous Status by University Grants Commission (UGC) for a period of Ten Years w.e.f. 2018-2019 to 2027-2028 (Letter No. F. 22-1/2018(AC) dated 28th May, 2018). However, the college will remain affiliated to University of Mumbai with an autonomous status.

Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti’s R J College of Arts, Science and Commerce established in 1963 enters it’s diamond Jubilee Year in 2022-2023. In 2018, UGC and MU granted autonomous status to the college based on the NAAC reaccreditation of “A’ grade with CGPA of 3.50. This started a new chapter for all the stakeholders of the institution in participating in the process of empowering our students and enableing them to develop as responsible citizens with Nationalistic feelings. Our management, teaching staff and supporting staff ensure that the college provides a a safe haven for their academic pursuits and they have a memorable campus experience. R J College is a home away from home for all our students. In our pursuit for excellence, our alumni, parents and members of the society have contributed immensely. We, at R J College are committed towards our students aquireing values, be ethical and honest and mantain good physical and mental health and there by help in the process of Nation building.

rjcollege-logoOn the auspicious day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, 15th August 1938, the people of Ghatkopar and the surrounding suburbs witnessed the birth of Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti, a brain child of a visionary Late Shri Nandkishore Singh Jairamji. The Samiti was established with the objectives of catering to the educational needs of the Hindi speaking community. It made a humble beginning by starting a primary school, which gradually expanded into a full fledged secondary school.
