Drone Technology

The Department of Drone Technology has been established with the objective of offering futuristic and industry-relevant programs in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications. The department currently offers a 6-Month Certificate Course and a 1-Year Postgraduate Diploma in Drone Technology, designed to address the rising demand for trained drone professionals across multiple sectors.

Under autonomy, the curriculum has been carefully prepared with close collaboration from industry experts, UAV service providers, RPTO trainers, and professionals from logistics, defence, agriculture, environment, and GIS sectors. The programs emphasise practical exposure, field training, and hands-on experience to develop strong technical skills that align with real-world expectations.

The department aims to nurture competent drone operators, maintenance specialists, aerial survey analysts, and application experts who are ready for industry challenges. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical drone flying, data analytics, and domain-specific applications, students gain the confidence and capability required for the rapidly evolving drone ecosystem.

The department is supported by a team of full-time faculties, part-time instructors, and visiting industry professionals. Their rich field experience ensures that students receive updated and application-oriented knowledge essential for professional success.

The Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC), set up by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), plays a key role in ensuring skilled workforce availability for the logistics and supply chain industry.
